04 Oct Le Vizir makes stylish return
Le Vizir made a stylish return at Warwick Farm for the Gerald Ryan and Stirling Alexiou stable, kicking clear in the XXXX Handicap over 1200m.
It was an uncomplicated race. Le Vizir was able to find room in the middle of the track to attack the leaders. As he kicked clear race caller, Darren Flindell said, ‘Le Vizir takes the lead and charged away!’
Jockey Robbie Dolan has been impressed with the four-year-old entire for some time now.
“I really liked him last prep,” Dolan said after the race.
“He trialled with good for me one day at Rosehill. I fancied him the day I rode him at Wyong, where he won doing a couple of things wrong.
“Speaking to Gerald on the phone on the way here, he gave me a lot of confidence.
“He’d only had the one trial, but Gerald felt he was ready to go. Who knows where he can go from here?
“Gerald was confident that whatever he did today, he would improve on. If he could improve on that, then he could be running in some of these Stakes races down the line.”
Le Vizir is owned by Bennelong Bloodstock, who purchased the flashy chestnut for $260,000 at the 2019 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale. Through the Sledmere Stud draft.
Le Vizir was bred by Woodpark Stud and is by the Aga Khan Stud stallion Siyouni out of the Giant’s Causeway mare Shakeyourbody.
Shakeyourbody is the dam of French Stakes-winner Skyward, who has since been imported to Australia.
Shakeyourbody has a yearling colt by Brazen Beau heading to the sales next year.
The Woodpark team are excited to see how far Le Vizir can progress this preparation off such an impressive first-up win.
