25 Nov Winning Mania
Girl Mania made it back to back wins at the 1000m with her photo-finish victory at Gosford on Wednesday. Reece Jones was aboard again in the Narra Plumbing Services 3 & 4yo Handicap.
The talented Capitalist filly had been somewhat of an enigma in her first six starts. She always showed Jean Dubois and the Woodpark Stud team she had ability, she just wasn’t focused on race day.
Her two wins and two second placings, from eight starts, have all come at the 1000m.
“It was an excellent effort in the soft ground, and great to see her get two wins in a row,” Woodpark Assistant Trainer Pierre Dubois said.
“Reece rode her very well again. He just let her find her pace around the turn. Then once they straightened, she just let rip to get the Rubinocchi, who actually beat us last prep at Kembla Grange.
“She will now go for a short spell before targeting a race in the city.
“She has made great improvement these last few months, and if we can keep her in this sort of form, she will continue winning races.”
Girl Mania was bred by Woodpark Stud and is by Newgate’s sire sensation Capitalist. She is out of the Unbridled’s Song mare Girluphigh, who was unfortunately lost this year.
Twin Hills will offer the Deep Field half-sister on behalf of Woodpark Stud at the 2022 Inglis Classic Sale. She is catalogued as Lot 789. Her sale page can be viewed here.
