Trial Wins for Woodpark Trio

08 Mar Trial Wins for Woodpark Trio

It was a busy day at the Kembla Grange Trials on Monday with Woodpark Stud taking a big team to continue the preparation for some of their charges.

A total of five horses were put through their paces at Kembla with four of those nearing their racetrack debut.

Arnaquer, Charlemagne and Largo Winch were very impressive in their respective two-year-old trials and Indian Sun also had a hit-out along with older horse Olmeto.

It was pleasing for the team at Woodpark to see Arnaquer, out of Woodpark mare Aloona who is also the dam of Aylmerton, step-up and show a little of what he has been showing ‘at home’ as the yearling half-brother by Not A Single Doubt will sell in a month at the famed Inglis Easter Yearling Sale.

“He is a big sort of horse and he has been coming along nicely and it is always a positive to be showing something this time of year as we approach the Easter Sale,” Jean Dubois of Woodpark said.

“He is by Astern and is out of our mare Aloona who is also the dam of Aylmerton who we raced and still have on the farm so it is nice to see a bit of movement there and he may get to the races to provide that pedigree update before the Easter Sale.”

The Not A Single Doubt x Aloona colt will sell as Lot 187 in the Lime Country Thoroughbreds draft.

Largo Winch and Charlemagne were also able to win their heats as they near a debut. Both of those horses were purchased at the 2020 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale. Largo Winch was purchased for $65,000 and Charlemagne for $90,000. Both horses were presented by Arrowfield Stud.

These three horses have certainly presented themselves as one’s to watch going forward to be sure to keep an eye out.
